**Short answer:** To record intercompany sales between entities in Intuit Enterprise Suite, the selling company creates an invoice (+ Create > Invoice) and picks the buying company from the organization's IC Customer list. The invoice stays a draft and doesn't post until the buying company reviews and accepts the matching bill IES creates, on the For Review tab under Intercompany Bills. A controller with the Manual Eliminations policy then eliminates the transaction from the Multi-Entity Hub.

## Before you start

- Your Intuit Enterprise Suite subscription has more than one company.
- The buying company is on your organization's IC Customer list, so you can pick it as the customer. Intuit's article doesn't explain how that list is set up.
- Whoever eliminates the transaction needs the Manual Eliminations policy. Current parent admins get it automatically. Other users ask their primary parent admin to grant it.
- To see intercompany drafts in the consolidated view, a user needs access to two or more companies, and the primary admin has to turn on consolidated view access for them.

| Who | Company | What they do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Accounts receivable manager | Selling company | Creates the intercompany invoice and sends it for acceptance. |
| Accounts payable manager | Receiving company | Reviews the bill IES creates, checks it matches the invoice, and accepts it. |
| Lead accountant or controller | Consolidated view | Reviews the transaction journal for both companies and eliminates the transaction. |

## Step 1: Create the intercompany invoice (selling company)

1. Select + Create, then Invoice.
2. Select a customer, choosing the buying company from your organization's IC Customer list. This sets the invoice up as an intercompany invoice.
3. IES adds an Internal customer note (hidden) that says ICT.
4. Save the invoice, or select Send for Acceptance. IES creates a draft that doesn't post to any chart of accounts until the receiving company accepts the bill.
5. To see the draft, go to Consolidated View, select All Apps, select Accounting, then select Intercompany Transactions.

The invoice stays in draft until the bill is accepted. Intuit says this is what keeps the consolidated report correct.

## Step 2: Review and accept the intercompany bill (receiving company)

IES creates a matching bill for the receiving company automatically, with the amounts, dimensions, descriptions and bill date filled in. The invoice and bill are linked.

1. Go to All apps > Expenses & Bills > Bills.
2. Confirm you're on the For Review tab under Intercompany Bills.
3. Select Review to open the bill.
4. Categorize the bill to the right account and update any dimensions.
5. Check that the bill matches the invoice before it posts.
6. Select Save as draft, or Accept and close. Confirm the invoice and bill are now linked as an intercompany transaction.

The two sides don't have to use the same account. Intuit's example is rent on one side and rent income on the other. For how IES tags transactions, see [how dimensions differ from classes and locations](https://logistify.ai/guides/intuit-enterprise-suite/dimensions-vs-classes-locations/).

## Step 3: Eliminate the transaction (lead accountant or controller)

1. From the consolidated view, go to the Multi-Entity Hub, then the Transaction section. It shows all intercompany transactions: invoices, bills, journal entries and allocations.
2. Open the transaction journal to see the accounting for both companies on one screen.
3. Select the transaction, then select Eliminate.
4. IES prefills the values for the manual elimination. Review them carefully, then save.
5. Your consolidated reports now reflect the elimination and are ready for review.

To remove whole intercompany accounts from consolidation instead of one transaction at a time, see how to [eliminate intercompany balances and view consolidated financial statements](https://logistify.ai/guides/intuit-enterprise-suite/eliminations-consolidated-financial-statements/). ## If something doesn't look right

- The invoice hasn't posted: it stays a draft until the receiving company accepts the bill. Check the For Review tab under Intercompany Bills in that company.
- The bill's account doesn't match the invoice's: that can be expected, for example rent and rent income. Categorize the bill to the right account before you accept it.
- You can't eliminate the transaction: you need the Manual Eliminations policy. Ask your primary parent admin to grant it.
- You can't open the consolidated view: you need access to two or more companies, and the primary admin has to turn on consolidated view access for you.

## Where Intuit Enterprise Suite leaves the work to you

- Someone in the receiving company has to review, categorize and accept every intercompany bill. Until they do, the selling company's invoice doesn't post.
- Eliminating an intercompany sale is a manual step: a lead accountant or controller selects it, reviews the prefilled values and saves.
- Intuit's article talks about selling goods between companies, but it doesn't explain how inventory quantities move from one company to the other.
- The article doesn't say what to do if the buying company disagrees with the bill, or how to set up the IC Customer list.

## How Logistify helps

Logistify doesn't create intercompany invoices, bills or eliminations. Its [Sales Order Service](https://logistify.ai/agents/sales-order/) enters your customers' orders into Intuit Enterprise Suite as sales orders, with a person reviewing exceptions, and its [Accounts Receivable Service](https://logistify.ai/agents/accounts-receivable/) matches payments from your bank file to open IES invoices.
