**Short answer:** Does Intuit Enterprise Suite support multi-level bills of materials (subassemblies)? Intuit's own sources disagree. Its help article on manufacturing orders, last updated 3 August 2026, says they aren't supported. Its Fall 2026 release notes, published 26 October 2026, list multi-level bills of materials and assemblies as included. On 30 October 2026 we found no Intuit help article explaining how to set them up. Ask Intuit to confirm before you move nested assemblies.

## The short answer

It depends which Intuit page you read. Intuit's help article says multi-level bills of materials with subassemblies aren't supported in Intuit Enterprise Suite. Intuit's Fall 2026 release notes, published later, list them as included. Until Intuit publishes help that matches the release notes, treat support as unconfirmed and get an answer from Intuit for your own subscription.

## What Intuit's help article says

> Multi level bill of materials with sub assemblies aren't supported in Intuit Enterprise Suite.
>
> [Intuit, Get started with manufacturing orders and assemblies, updated 3 August 2026](https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/sales-orders/learn-manufacturing-orders-assemblies/L7ffspckB_US_en_US)

- The line sits in the article's Before you start section, in a note for QuickBooks Desktop migrators.
- The same note says Desktop inventory assemblies, bills of materials and build assembly transactions are included in the migration.
- The article's steps list inventory, service and non-inventory items as components of a bill of materials. They don't mention adding another assembly item as a component.
- The page showed "Updated 8/3/2026" when we checked it on 30 October 2026, four days after the release notes came out.
- Two related Intuit articles, on assembly items and bills of materials (updated 4 August 2026) and on planning production with manufacturing orders (updated 5 August 2026), don't mention multi-level bills either way.

## What the Fall 2026 release notes say

- Intuit published What's new in Intuit Enterprise Suite: Fall 2026 release on its erp.intuit.com blog on 26 October 2026.
- Its inventory section lists "multi-level bills of materials (BoM) and assemblies" as included, alongside units of measure, barcode scanning and label printing, and inventory value adjustments.
- The notes describe what's included, not how to use it. They give no steps, settings or limits for multi-level bills.
- They don't call multi-level bills of materials beta. The items they label beta are construction capabilities, the WIP Agent and multi-currency.
- The same notes say nonprofit features and additional manufacturing capabilities are coming soon, and point to the Early Access Program for new beta capabilities.
- Intuit's manufacturing product page lists bills of materials, manufacturing orders and build assemblies, but doesn't mention multi-level bills.

For the rest of the release, see [what's new in Intuit Enterprise Suite for Fall 2026](https://logistify.ai/guides/intuit-enterprise-suite/whats-new-fall-2026-early-access/). Moving from QuickBooks Desktop? ## What to ask Intuit before you move

- Are multi-level bills of materials live in our subscription today, or only in early access or beta?
- Can an Inventory (assembly) item be added as a component on another assembly's bill of materials?
- Does each subassembly need its own manufacturing order, completed before the parent's order? Or can one order build every level?
- How does the shortage column treat a subassembly that's short: does it show the subassembly, its components, or both?
- How does a subassembly's cost roll into the parent's actual cost when the Build assembly transaction posts?
- If we move from QuickBooks Desktop, what happens to the subassembly lines on our multi-level bills of materials?
- When will the help article Get started with manufacturing orders and assemblies be updated to match the release notes?
- Can you show it working in a demo company with one of our own multi-level products?

## What a multi-level BOM is

A bill of materials (BOM) lists the components and quantities needed to make one unit of a product. In a single-level BOM, every component is something you buy or keep in stock. In a multi-level, or indented, BOM, at least one component is itself an assembly with its own BOM. That component is a subassembly, and it has to be built before the product that uses it.

| Level | Item | Qty per parent | Type |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 0 | Desk lamp | 1 | Finished assembly |
| 1 | Lamp head | 1 | Subassembly |
| 2 | LED module | 1 | Component |
| 2 | Head housing | 1 | Component |
| 1 | Base | 1 | Component |
| 1 | Power cord | 1 | Component |
| 1 | Assembly labor (hours) | 0.25 | Service |

*A generic example, not from Intuit. Building one desk lamp means first building one lamp head from its own components.*

For how a single-level build works in Intuit Enterprise Suite today, see how to [create a manufacturing order and build an assembly](https://logistify.ai/guides/intuit-enterprise-suite/manufacturing-order-build-assembly/).

## Where Intuit Enterprise Suite leaves the work to you

- Confirming support: the help article and the release notes disagree, so getting a clear answer for your subscription is up to you.
- Nested builds: we found no Intuit help article with steps for building a subassembly inside another assembly, so there's no documented process to follow yet.
- Migration: Intuit's help article doesn't say what happens to the subassembly lines on a multi-level bill when a Desktop file moves.
- Planning: the shortage column counts open manufacturing and sales orders that use the same component. Intuit's article doesn't say how it treats a component that is itself an assembly.

## How Logistify helps

Logistify doesn't set up bills of materials, create manufacturing orders or build assemblies, so it doesn't change the answer here. Its [Sales Order Service](https://logistify.ai/agents/sales-order/) enters customer orders for your finished goods into Intuit Enterprise Suite as sales orders, whether they arrive by email, PDF, Excel (including .xls), EDI, WhatsApp, SMS, voicemail or paper, with a person reviewing exceptions. The [Procurement Service](https://logistify.ai/agents/procurement/) follows up with suppliers on open purchase orders for components. Logistify is a managed service, not a connector or app.
