QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Editions: Silver vs Gold vs Platinum vs Diamond, Plus the Industry Editions
Who should choose which
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise editions on Intuit's pricing page are Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Gold covers the software, up to 30 users and Enhanced Payroll. Platinum adds Advanced Inventory, Advanced Pricing, bill and purchase order approvals and intercompany transactions. Diamond adds up to 40 users, Assisted Payroll and QuickBooks Time Elite. One Intuit help article says Silver can still be bought, but the pricing and buy pages don't offer it. Industry editions, such as Manufacturing & Wholesale, are a separate choice.

What does Gold include?
Gold is the entry level on Intuit's pricing page. It includes the Enterprise software, 1 to 30 users with custom roles and permissions, and Enhanced Payroll at up to $3 per employee a month. It also has 200+ built-in reports, multi-company management, online backup and Priority Circle support.
Gold already has Enterprise's larger limits: up to 30 users, over 100,000 list entries and up to 500 components per assembly. Intuit's pricing page doesn't include Advanced Inventory in Gold, so inventory sites, bins and FIFO costing point to Platinum or Diamond. See QuickBooks Desktop Pro vs Premier vs Enterprise for the full comparison.
What does Platinum add?
Platinum adds four things to Gold: Advanced Inventory, Advanced Pricing, bill and purchase order approval workflows, and intercompany transactions. If you keep stock in more than one location, Platinum is likely the level to look at.
- Advanced Inventory tracks stock by site, with a reorder point for each site and transfers between sites. With it, you can switch from average cost to FIFO from a date you choose.
- The fine print on Intuit's industry editions page says mobile barcode scanning and cycle counts are only in the Advanced Inventory module. It lists sales order fulfillment and landed cost for Platinum and Diamond only.
- Advanced Pricing sets price rules by customer, item, class or sales rep, and adds quantity discounts. Turning it on converts your price levels into price rules.
- Bill and purchase order workflow approvals let you set approval steps for bills and purchase orders.
- Intercompany transactions let you track transactions between your own entities from one dashboard.
Our guides cover Advanced Inventory in QuickBooks Enterprise, Advanced Pricing price rules, purchase order and bill approvals, and intercompany transactions.
Two mismatches to know about. Intuit's article on turning on Advanced Inventory says Enterprise users can purchase or subscribe to it, while the pricing and buy pages include it only in Platinum and Diamond. Its Advanced Pricing article names only the Platinum subscription, while the pricing and buy pages list Advanced Pricing for Diamond too.
What does Diamond add?
Diamond has Platinum's features, with Assisted Payroll in place of Enhanced Payroll, plus room for up to 40 users and QuickBooks Time Elite. Intuit sells Diamond only on a monthly plan, in user counts of 1 to 10, 20, 30 and 40.
- Assisted Payroll costs $2.50 per employee per pay period. Intuit says it isn't available in Indiana or Wyoming.
- QuickBooks Time Elite is included, with a fee of $5 per employee a month.
- Gold and Platinum stop at 30 users. Licenses come in single users from 1 to 10, then 20 or 30.
What happened to Silver?
Intuit's pages disagree. Its help article on Desktop subscriptions, updated August 2026, says you can still buy Enterprise as Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond. Its pricing and buy-online pages offer only Gold, Platinum and Diamond, though their terms still name Silver.
The same help article says Enhanced Payroll fees apply when you add payroll to Silver, while Gold and Platinum include it. Intuit's pages don't list Silver's other features. If you want Silver, ask Intuit's sales team whether it is still offered before you plan around it.
What are the industry editions?
Industry editions are versions of Enterprise with extra reports, menus and charts of accounts for one type of business. Intuit says each has the same key features as standard Enterprise. You pick an industry edition inside QuickBooks, from the Help menu, while Gold, Platinum and Diamond are subscription levels you buy.
- Intuit's help lists General Business, Contractor, Manufacturing & Wholesale, Nonprofit, Professional Services, Retail and Accountant.
- Intuit's industry solutions page names them a little differently: Construction, Manufacturing, Wholesale, Nonprofit, Professional Services, Retail and Accounting Professional.
- Billing rate levels, which set service rates by employee or vendor, are only in the Contractor, Professional Services and Accountant editions.
How do you switch industry editions?
From the Help menu. Go to Help > Manage My License > Change to a Different Industry Edition, and choose the edition. QuickBooks restarts in it. In the Accountant edition, use File > Toggle to Another Edition instead.
Switching doesn't change your data. Intuit says a file created in one edition opens in any other edition without affecting it. If no edition can be selected, Intuit suggests repairing QuickBooks, then reinstalling if the problem stays.
How are the levels priced?
Each level is priced by user count. On Intuit's pages, Gold starts at $2,210 a year and Platinum at $2,717 a year for one user. Diamond is sold only monthly. Payroll fees and hosting are extra. For the price at each user count and the hosting plans, see QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise pricing explained.
Who should choose which
- Gold: you need Enterprise's users, list room and reports, and you run one stock location with price levels.
- Platinum: you need inventory by site or bin, FIFO costing, lot or serial numbers, price rules, or bill and purchase order approvals.
- Diamond: you need more than 30 users, Assisted Payroll or QuickBooks Time Elite.
- Manufacturing & Wholesale edition: you make or distribute products and want its reports and menus. It is a choice of edition, separate from your level.
What Logistify does and doesn't do
Logistify is a managed service for companies on QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, not a connector or plugin. The Sales Order Service enters customer orders that arrive by email, PDF or paper into QuickBooks Desktop as sales orders, with a person reviewing exceptions. The Accounts Receivable Service matches payments in your bank file to open invoices and records them. The Procurement Service follows up with suppliers on open purchase orders.
Logistify doesn't sell QuickBooks licenses. It doesn't set price levels or price rules, or choose inventory sites, bins or lot numbers on sales orders. It doesn't pick, pack, ship or receive, approve or pay bills, or build reports.
