Short answer

To set up sell price tiers in Unleashed, rename the tiers under Settings > System Settings > Sell Price Tiers, enter a price per tier on each product's Sale tab, then pick one Sell Price Tier on each customer's Details tab. Unleashed prices order lines in this order: Customer Pricing, then Quantity Price, then the customer's Sell Price Tier (less any customer Discount %), then Default Sell Price. Customer Pricing needs Core or Pro.

Before you start

  • You can use up to 10 Sell Price Tiers, such as Retail, Wholesale and Distributor.
  • Tier prices aren't currency-specific. A customer gets the tier price as entered, whatever their currency.
  • A customer's Sell Price Tier price beats the product's Default Sell Price.
  • Customer Pricing, for prices agreed with one customer, isn't available on Lite. It needs Core or Pro.
  • Price changes only apply to new sales orders. Existing orders keep their prices.

How Unleashed picks the price on an order line

OrderPrice sourceApplies when
1Customer PricingThe customer has a price for the product or its Product Group, within any Valid From and Valid To dates.
2Quantity PriceNo Customer Pricing applies, and the product's Quantity Price dates and Min. Quantity are met.
3Sell Price TierThe customer has a tier. Any Discount (%) on the customer record applies on top.
4Default Sell PriceThe customer has no Sell Price Tier.
From Unleashed's article What is the Customer Pricing hierarchy?

Step 1: Name your tiers

  1. 1From the main menu, go to Settings > System Settings > Sell Price Tiers.
  2. 2Enter a name in each tier's Name field, for example Wholesale.
  3. 3Click Save. Product and customer records show the new names straight away.

Step 2: Enter tier prices on your products

  1. 1For one product, open its record, click the Sale tab, then the Sell Price Tier tab. Enter a price for each tier and click Save.
  2. 2For many products, go to Inventory > Products > Import/Export, click Export and select Products.
  3. 3Edit the Default Sell Price and Sell Price Tier columns with exact prices, not percentages. Delete rows you aren't changing.
  4. 4Save the CSV and upload it on the same Import/Export page.
  5. 5To set tier prices as a markup, use Inventory > Products > Markup Price Update. Filter the products, pick the tiers, enter the markup percentage and click Update. The base can be Average Landed Cost, Last Cost, Default Purchase Price or Default Sell Price.

Step 3: Assign a tier to each customer

  1. 1Open the customer's record.
  2. 2In the Details tab, choose one tier from the Sell Price Tier drop-down.
  3. 3Enter a Discount (%) if the customer gets a standard discount on top of the tier.
  4. 4Click Save. To assign tiers in bulk, use the Import Customers template.

Step 4: Add customer-specific prices (Core and Pro)

  1. 1Open the customer's record and go to the Customer Pricing tab.
  2. 2In the Customer Pricing List section, pick a product in the Product field, or a Product Group from its drop-down.
  3. 3Enter the Price/Discount% and set Price Type to Fixed Price or Discount%.
  4. 4For a discount, set Discount From to the customer's Sell Price Tier price or the Default Sell Price.
  5. 5Add a Min. Quantity, Valid From and Valid To if the deal has conditions, then click Add.
  6. 6To manage many prices, use Export and Import on the customer's Customer Pricing tab.

If something doesn't look right

  • A customer isn't getting a quantity break: if they have Customer Pricing for the product, Quantity Prices don't apply to them.
  • You changed a price but an open order didn't update: price changes only apply to new orders.
  • No price appears on an order line: check a customer is assigned to the order first.
  • The import file shows Sell Price Tier 1 instead of your tier name: the Import Products template doesn't support custom tier names.
  • A foreign-currency customer got the wrong amount: tier prices aren't converted. Use a separate tier for that currency.
  • To check where a price came from, hover over the i icon on the Price field when adding the line.

Where Unleashed leaves the work to you

  • Keeping up to 10 tier prices current on every product.
  • Noticing when a buyer's purchase order shows a different price from the one Unleashed fills in.
  • Renewing or ending Customer Pricing when the Valid To date passes.

How Logistify helps

When Logistify's Sales Order Service enters an order into Unleashed, it uses the buyer's price when the order states one, and otherwise the customer's Unleashed sell price tier. A person reviews exceptions. Your tiers and Customer Pricing stay in Unleashed, set up by your team. The same pricing fills in when you create a sales quote, and when you import sales quotes with Unit Price left blank.
