Intuit Enterprise Suite vs QuickBooks Online Advanced for Manufacturers and Distributors

Who should choose which

Choose QuickBooks Online Advanced if you don't need several entities in one system, 25 users is enough, and you want a published price: $340 a month list. Choose Intuit Enterprise Suite if you need multiple entities, dimensions, manufacturing orders, or pick, pack and ship, which Intuit's help articles document for IES. IES is quoted per customer. Logistify works with both, entering customer orders as sales orders, so it doesn't decide the choice.

Where Logistify AI fits

Logistify works alongside Intuit Enterprise Suite. It is a managed service, not a connector, plugin or app, and it doesn't replace Intuit Enterprise Suite or QuickBooks. With Intuit Enterprise Suite, the Sales Order Service enters customer orders that arrive by email, PDF, Excel (including .xls), EDI, WhatsApp, SMS, voicemail or paper as sales orders, with a person reviewing exceptions. The Accounts Receivable Service matches payments from your bank file to open invoices. The Procurement Service follows up with suppliers on open purchase orders. Logistify also works with QuickBooks Online. Logistify operates in every region where Intuit Enterprise Suite is sold.

  • It doesn't create estimates or quotes, choose a warehouse, or set lot or serial numbers, locations, sub-locations, dimensions, classes or price rules on orders.
  • It doesn't create, receive or close purchase orders, run builds or manufacturing orders, or make intercompany entries.
  • It doesn't chase customers for payment, and it works from your bank file, not a live bank feed.

When is QuickBooks Online Advanced enough?

Intuit's pricing page lists QuickBooks Online Advanced at $340 a month, and its FAQ says Advanced supports up to 25 users with no additional fees. Advanced has sales orders, which reserve stock without posting to your books and can be turned into invoices or purchase orders. It also has 60+ workflow templates for invoices, bills, estimates, purchase orders and bill payments, a KPI Scorecard with 80+ KPIs, custom dashboards, custom roles, and unlimited classes and locations. If you run your business in one company, buy and sell stock rather than build it with manufacturing orders, and fit within 25 users, Advanced covers the work at a published price.

What do you gain by moving to Intuit Enterprise Suite?

Several entities in one system. Intuit's multi-entity articles apply to Intuit Enterprise Suite: an intercompany invoice stays in draft until the buying company accepts the matching bill, elimination accounts and intercompany journal entries are managed from the parent company, and you can run consolidated reports. See how to record intercompany sales.

Dimensions instead of classes. Intuit's article on tracking transactions says classes are for QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced, and dimensions are for Intuit Enterprise Suite. Dimension values can nest up to five levels and can be shared across companies from the parent. See dimensions vs classes and locations.

Manufacturing orders. Intuit says manufacturing features are currently available in Intuit Enterprise Suite: assembly items with a bill of materials, and manufacturing orders that move from Planned to In progress to Completed. The shortage column counts other open manufacturing and sales orders that use the same component. If you downgrade, bills of materials and manufacturing orders become view-only. See how to create a manufacturing order and build an assembly.

Pick, pack and ship, in the US. Fulfillment orders are created from sales orders. Warehouse workers get a Warehouse Worker role that can't see financial data, and they open their orders in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with no app, and can scan item barcodes. Invoicing stays manual, and quantity on hand drops when you create the invoice, not when you ship. See how to pick, pack and ship orders.

Project controls. The Forecast and Projects permission areas and the Project Manager role are IES only, and Intuit lists 17 project reports it calls exclusive to Intuit Enterprise Suite, such as Committed cost by project and Cost to complete by project.

Inventory from the Fall 2026 release. Intuit's release notes, published 26 October 2026, list inventory features now included in Intuit Enterprise Suite: serial and lot tracking with expiry, multi-location inventory with sites and sub-locations, landed cost, inventory roles and permissions, units of measure, barcode scanning and label printing, and inventory value adjustments.

What about multi-level bills of materials?

Intuit's sources disagree. Its help article on manufacturing orders, last updated 3 August 2026, says multi-level bills of materials with subassemblies aren't supported in Intuit Enterprise Suite. Its Fall 2026 release notes, published 26 October 2026, list multi-level bills of materials and assemblies as included. If you build products from subassemblies, ask Intuit to show it working before you sign. Intuit's manufacturing article doesn't name QuickBooks Online Advanced as a plan with manufacturing orders. See does Intuit Enterprise Suite support multi-level bills of materials.

What carries over when you upgrade from QuickBooks Online?

We found no Intuit help article on upgrading from QuickBooks Online Advanced, only a product page. That page says your chart of accounts, vendors, classes, transaction history, permissions, entities and roles carry over, that the interface is the same, and that there's no downtime. It also says more than 90% of customers are up and running in under 7 days; its footnote bases that on adoption of one feature among QuickBooks Online migrators as of April 2026. Intuit's dimensions articles don't explain how classes become dimensions, so ask how yours will be handled.

How do the prices compare?

QuickBooks Online Advanced lists at $340 a month. When we checked, Intuit was offering an introductory 50% off the monthly base price for the first 3 months ($170 a month), for new QuickBooks Online customers who sign up for the monthly plan with the 3-month discount option; after that, you pay the then-current monthly price. Intuit doesn't publish an Intuit Enterprise Suite price. It quotes a custom bundle, and the fine print on its pricing page refers to per-user charges, additional entities or dimensions, and add-ons. See Intuit Enterprise Suite pricing for what drives the quote and what to ask.

Who should choose which

  • Logistify AI, with either one: customer orders arrive by email, PDF, Excel, EDI, WhatsApp, SMS, voicemail or paper and someone retypes them. Logistify works with both, so you can choose the accounting system on its own merits.
  • Choose QuickBooks Online Advanced if you don't need several entities in one system, 25 users is enough, you track by classes and locations, and you don't build products with manufacturing orders.
  • Choose Intuit Enterprise Suite if you need several entities with intercompany sales, eliminations and consolidated reports.
  • Choose Intuit Enterprise Suite if you assemble products and want manufacturing orders with shortage checks, or want warehouse staff picking in a browser with barcode scans (US only).
  • If you build products from subassemblies, ask Intuit to demonstrate multi-level bills of materials before you sign, because its help article and release notes disagree.
