Does Unleashed Forecast Demand? Advanced Inventory Manager, MRP and BI
- Applies to
- Unleashed Core and Pro
- Steps checked against
- Unleashed Help Centre articles and Unleashed's UK pricing page, checked 23 October 2026
Short answer
Does Unleashed forecast demand? Yes, through Advanced Inventory Manager (AIM). AIM Forecasting sets monthly demand per product and warehouse, offers linear and seasonal trend lines, and calculates replenishment dates and quantities. AIM Production Planning passes forecast demand to components through the bill of materials. AIM is free on Pro and £99 a month on Core, excluding tax, and isn't supported on Lite (checked 23 October 2026). Unleashed's help articles present the forecasts as trend lines you review and adjust.
Before you start
- Forecasting lives in Advanced Inventory Manager (AIM). Unleashed's UK pricing page lists AIM as free on Pro and £99 a month on Core, in British pounds excluding taxes (checked 23 October 2026). Unleashed's help centre says AIM isn't supported on Lite.
- Unleashed's pricing page calls AIM "The Unleashed MRP", with material requirements planning at product and component level.
- AIM loads your Unleashed products automatically. You can also import historic sales data to give it a rate of demand.
- Forecasts depend on history. Unleashed says accounts with little transaction history may find forecasting limited until enough data builds up.
- AIM Forecasting is one forecast per SKU per warehouse.
AIM Modelling or AIM Forecasting: which one you need
| AIM Modelling | AIM Forecasting | |
|---|---|---|
| What it sets | Static min and max stock limits from an average rate of past demand | Future monthly demand, and replenishment dates and sizes day by day |
| How you reorder | The Reorder Report flags products under their minimum | The AIM Replenishments tab lists each planned replenishment |
| Best for | Many products with steady demand | Your most important products, seasonal lines, new products and end-of-life products |
| New products | Can't be modelled without history | Can be forecast by setting expected demand |
Step 1: Check lead days and stock limits
- 1Open AIM's Modelling tab. Unleashed suggests it as the place to start.
- 2Use the Finish buttons to add any missing lead days or stock limits.
- 3If you have purchase history, use the Use Actuals option to apply the average past delivery time as each product's lead days.
Step 2: Create a forecast
- 1Open the Forecast tab and select the product and warehouse.
- 2Click Demand in the chart toggle selector to open the demand chart.
- 3Set demand for each month by dragging the blue dots, typing in the table below the chart, or using Fill Forecast in the Set Demand panel. Fill Forecast can snap the forecast to the linear trend, the seasonal trend, or a year-on-year growth percentage.
- 4In the Plan Supply panel, enter Min Days of Stock (the point to reorder), Max Days of Stock (how much to hold once the order arrives) and Lead Days.
- 5Review the replenishments in the Replenishments tab and the Supply chart, then select Save Forecast.
Past months are read-only, so you can compare the forecast with what actually sold. The actuals for a warehouse come from its sales orders and assembly consumption.
Step 3: Plan production for assembled products
- 1Set the forecast and stock holding strategy for the assembled product.
- 2In the Plan Production section of the right-hand panel, set Create Component Demand to Yes.
- 3Set a source warehouse, where production takes place and component stock is drawn down.
- 4Select Save Forecast. Replenishments appear in the AIM Replenishments tab for the assembled product and each component.
The timing comes from the Production Duration settings on your Bill of Materials. When several assembled products share a component, its forecast shows the combined demand.
Step 4: Turn replenishments into transactions
- Since February 2026, the AIM Replenishments tab can create purchases, stock transfers or assemblies in your account.
- You can also export the Supply chart to a spreadsheet as a replenishment plan.
- Since September 2026, you can import and export forecast demand and strategy files to manage forecasts in bulk.
- If you use Modelling, the Reorder Report's Model Min/Max button opens AIM Modelling, and the report creates Parked purchase orders, assemblies or transfers.
Our Reorder Report guide covers that route step by step.
Where Business Intelligence fits
Business Intelligence (BI) is a reporting module for Core and Pro. BI Foundation is included and shows KPIs for purchases, inventory, production, sales and customers. BI Vision adds custom date ranges, drill-downs, targets and email snapshots. Unleashed's BI introduction describes it as a reporting module. Historic sales data you import populates both the BI and AIM databases.
If something doesn't look right
- A product doesn't appear in Modelling: Modelling only loads products with a rate of demand or stock on hand. Use a forecast instead.
- Components show "Overdue" flags: Unleashed recommends separate forecasts for components and finished goods.
- A forecast doesn't create component demand: setting BOM durations or picking product groups in Modelling doesn't create demand by itself. Set it in each product's forecast.
- The forecast looks off for a seasonal product: change the size of the history in the Set Demand panel, which changes the trend lines.
Where Unleashed leaves the work to you
- You set or approve the demand for each forecast. The trend lines are a starting point.
- Each forecast covers one product in one warehouse, so setting up your important lines takes time.
- Someone reviews the replenishment plan and decides what to order, assemble or transfer.
- Evo Copilot isn't a substitute. Unleashed says it doesn't match BI or AIM for stock planning or forecast calculations.

Where Logistify fits
Logistify doesn't forecast demand or create purchase orders. AIM's actuals come from a warehouse's sales orders and assembly consumption. Logistify's Sales Order Service enters customer orders into Unleashed as sales orders, with a person reviewing exceptions, and flags lines well above a customer's usual quantity.
